Of all the no-brainers, celebrating Mother Teresa’s centenary is at the top of the list. There is no limb to climb out on over this issue. Yet, you’d never know that if you listen to the boneheads running the Empire State Building.

So, let me get this straight. We should question the official story of 9/11, but we should accept the official mythology regarding Mother Teresa without question?

There’s a huge fallacy in your earliest utterance. You place Mother Teresa outside the category of people of ‘questionable note.”
Mother Teresa, as has been pointed out by Christopher Hitchens and others, was an extreme religious Fundamentalist whose conservative social mores kept the poor and uneducated subservient to dictatorships and oppressive governments across the globe.
Mother Teresa the corrupt Duvalier family in Haiti, that she took money – over a million dollars – from Charles Keating, the Lincoln Savings and Loans swindler, even though it had been shown to her that the money was stolen; she has been an ally of the most reactionary forces in India and in many other countries; she campaigned to prevent Ireland from overturning a constitutional ban on divorce, etc.
Those clever enough, unlike Bill Donohue, will see through the disingenuous PR that would paint her as a saint and conclude that, in truth, she did far more harm than good.
